MyCloud Online Backup has a range of recovery options to suit every scenario including self-service recovery from the cloud, recovery from local cache, or managed recovery using physical media.

 

Central backup management from anywhere

MyCloud Online Backup comes with an easy to use management console, provideing a single control panel to manage the backup and recovery operations for your entire infrastructure. From here you can set-up backup jobs, monitor logs, manage alerts and reports, and run restore operations.

The console can be installed on multiple systems and connects to our central cloud platform. As the management platform has two-way communication with the backup clients, you can manage the backup and restore operations from anywhere with an Internet connection.

Secure hosted backup platform

Cerberus hosts your data in 2 separate datacentres to eliminate any single points of failure, ensuring data availability in the unlikely event of a major site outage. Data is stored highly encrypted, with an encryption key that you set so that all backup data is secure in transit or at rest. Because the service is managed and maintained by Cerberus under a Service Level Agreement (SLA), any issues with the platform will be dealt with promptly and at no additional cost.

With the optional onsite caching, you can keep a copy of your backup data on your local network. This means that when you need to recover data, you can download transfer it from storage on your local network rather than waiting to download from the cloud, dramatically reducing recovery times. All you need to provide onsite caching is suitable SMB storage such as a low-cost NAS appliance.

One size does NOT fit all

Key to getting BC/DR right is to look carefully at the organisation’s particular needs and plan a strategy accordingly. While some processes will be common to many organisations, it is important to closely examine and analyse the following factors:

  • the key systems that must keep working, including Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPOs)
  • which staff must be able to work through disruption,
